Proper Tree Trimming Services

Did you know that when you trim your trees you are providing them with a longer life? Trimming is one of the best ways to ensure your tree remains in a healthy state, while strengthening its core, in turn allowing it to withstand against Arizona’s harsh weather. In fact, when you remove diseased ridden or dead branches from your tree, you are actually discouraging the spread of decay and insect infestations.

Once we plant a tree it is easy to believe that it will just grow on its own. However, it is not taking action that causes trees to often go neglected, and/or taken for granted. While this may be true for states with much more forgiving climates, it is simply not going to happen in Arizona, in large part due to the state’s tendency for sandy soil, storms, drought conditions and insect infestations.

Branch Management Tree Service has been servicing commercial, residential and governmental clients for over 35 years valley-wide. We have the expertise, training and equipment to tackle any tree trimming, thinning or pruning job regardless of the tree’s size or shape. Our clients love our tree trimming services because of the degree of service we have to offer!

Our certified tree experts use the latest, state-of-the-art safety equipment to deliver the best and most effective tree trimming services in the minimalist of time, which saves you money. Don’t settle for less than the best; we carry an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau; and follow all ANSI A300 guidelines and standards set forth by the International Society of Arboriculture.

By opting to have tree trimming services performed regularly by Branch Management Tree Service, you can expect your tree to remain healthy, and provide you with everlasting beauty. Contact us today for our competitive prices, high level of quality, and an estimate on tree trimming and maintenance services. With the proper care, your trees will not only look better, they will also flourish.

Wrong Trimming can cause serious damage or you could lose your tree all together.  For example the “Lion’s Tail” trimming leaves the tree heavy at the ends of the branches.

Stake & Cabling

Has your tree blown-over? Is it leaning more to one side due to high winds? Did you plant a new, young tree? Using high quality materials, we at Branch Management Tree Service, can have your tree standing upright in a jiffy. Our certified tree experts and certified tree arborists will reset your tree to its original position, stake it and cable it. This service ensures your tree is positioned securely while allowing its roots time to grow.

Tree staking is never done with the intention of harming a tree. Staking is done in order to maintain a tree’s erection, promote root and trunk growth, protect a young tree and re-support a tree after a storm. For older trees, staking is only performed after corrective pruning is completed, so that unnecessary weight is not already burdening an already weak tree.

Cables as well as braces are additional structural supports intended to 1) reduce the chance of your tree from failing before its time after it becomes structurally weakened for any reason, 2) to prolong your tree’s healthy existence after it has become damaged, and 3) to reduce your tree’s potential for hazards to occur. Additional support may be needed is your tree is splitting or decaying.

When done properly by our certified tree experts and arborists, all of whom are knowledgeable and experienced in this field, tree staking and cabling are both superb ways in which to ensure your tree’s strength, health and beauty are not compromised. All of the work we at Branch Management Tree Service perform, as well as all of the materials we use, are in strict accordance with ANSI A300 Tree Care Standards.

Deep Root Fertilization

Deep root fertilization is the process of injecting high quality nutrients into your trees’ root zone while under pressure. The injection begins just below the surface and goes to total depth of 12 to 14”. Each injection site is strategically placed 2 to 3’ feet apart in a grid pattern under your trees’ canopy area and beyond its drip line for maximum results.

It is recommended that when utilizing deep root fertilization solutions, the process be repeated twice a year, in order to better assist in your trees overall health. By repeating this process you are also helping your tree defend itself against insect infestations and common tree diseases.

Wherever oxygen, nutrients and moisture are present you are sure to find roots. By having deep root fertilization services performed at minimum twice a year, you are improving your soil’s oxygen content, aeration and nutrient levels, which help to improve environmental conditions in and around your trees roots.

For more information on the formulation of our fertilizer, please feel free to contact us. Considering that each tree is different than the next, our certified arborists may make amendments to the mixture we most often utilize, as is commonly the case whenever nutrient deficiencies or health concerns are present.

Palm Tree Services

In a state such as Arizona, where a palm tree can be found on virtually every corner, it is only natural that you will require our palm tree maintenance services at one time or another. Our tree maintenance services will ensure your palms are protected from insect infestations, diseases and deficiencies commonly caused by malnutrition. No, your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you, and yes you read that right.

Although it may appear to most that your palm tree is invincible; since it tolerates the Arizona heat so well; they are in fact extremely sensitive and require a large variety of nutrients in order to remain beautifully healthy. At Branch Management Tree Service, we have certified arborists on staff, all of whom understand the uniqueness of palms and how to properly care for them.

Palm Trimming

The normal progression of your palms fronds are for them to turn yellow, orange and them brown. Once your palm’s fronds have turned brown it is then, and only then, that they should be trimmed. This progression allows your palm efficient time to utilize all of its stored nutrition, helping to ensure that healthy new growth takes place, where the cut was made.

Royal, foxtail and veitchia palm trees are self-cleaning palms; hence they never need trimmed; they actually shed their dead fronds on their own. Allow Branch Management Tree Service’s experienced team to perform all of your palm trimming needs. We can do it faster, safer and at an affordable price. When done properly, palm trimming will ensure your palm’s healthy growth, but don’t incorrectly it can lead to:

  • A loss in vigor

  • A reduction in nutritional health

  • The transmission of disease

  • A lowered tolerance to the cold and windstorms

Palm Treatments

Palm malnutrition, as mentioned above, is one of the most common issues we come across when working with Arizona’s palm trees. This is in large part due to the palms thriving in such a sandy, well-drained soil, which causes its nutrients to leach away rather quickly. We at Branch Management Tree Service, utilize specialized methods when treating nutritional deficiencies, which are designed to provide consistent feeding.

Tree Values

Trees are responsible for so much more than just surrounding you with comforting ambiance. In fact, trees provide timber, food, paper and refuges for wildlife. They also work to replenish the environment with oxygen and filter pollution. In addition, they provide sound barriers and shade canopies. All of these benefits and more make it possible to measure your tree’s monetary value.

Recent studies estimate that your tree may account for upwards of 15 percent of your property’s value. However, this figure is dependent on which appraisal method is utilized, how many mature trees you own, where your tree is situated and on the assessment factors (listed below). Please note that your tree’s value may vastly differ to that of your neighbor’s regardless of whether their identical or not.

At Branch Management Tree Service, we have competent appraisers who will work to provide you with the best and most accurate assessment of what your tree’s monetary value is. If you are landscaping your property for the first time, it is important to plan for the highest return on investment, and to seek the advice from professionals for the best placement. We recommend that you:

  1. Plan your landscaping taking into consideration your tree’s beauty as well as functional value.

  2. Reduce casualty loss by protecting your investment. The best way to do this is to perform annual preventative maintenance techniques.

  3. Take before and after pictures of your landscaping, trees and plants. This helps to expedite the processing of insurance and IRS claims.

  4. Check your insurance policy. In most cases insurance companies only pay for the replacement value of your landscaping. Some may pay a maximum of $500 for any one tree or shrub, but this is still a far cry of what they may be worth when mature.

  5. Keep accurate records of your landscaping and real estate appraisals.

  6. Consult the professionals at Branch Management Tree Service early on, ensuring you’re covered each stage of your tree’s life, and to make sure you don’t suffer needless financial loss.

Assessment Factors

  1. Size – The first step in assessing a trees monetary value is to measure the tree’s height and trunk diameter beginning at ground level. Some assessors may measure your tree’s branch spread and its bark thickness.

  1. Species – Since no two trees are ever the same, the species of your tree can greatly alter your tree’s monetary value, in one of two ways. Simply put, some species are worth more than others, and may be more desirable than others.

  1. Condition – Evaluate your tree’s overall health, vigor and condition. Is it free from insect infestations, disease and damage? Is it structurally sound? These are all determining factors when considering a tree’s condition and value.

  1. Location – The old adage of location, location and location applies not only to real estate but is also a critical component to the assessment of your tree’s value. When assessing location it is important to consider site, placement and aesthetics.

Tree Care Services

Drought continues to adversely impact much of the nation. According to the U.S Outlook drought is likely to persist or intensify in the South West. In spite of this adverse view Branch Management Tree Services can help homeowners keep trees healthy enhancing their property values in this region.

While it’s impossible to keep every tree in good health in time of severe drought, taking a proactive approach for a prized or sentimental tree can enhance its good health, Branch Management Tree Services provides a plan that is supported with good cultural practices, proactive monitoring for pests and disease while responding to warning signs leading to more likely survival

Silent suffering: A tree’s first damage from drought occurs beneath the soil line in the form of root damage, long before any outward sign of trouble. After a tree unsuccessful attempts to conserve water by closing stomata’s, feeder roots die back, sometimes so drastically that the tree is unable to take enough water to support itself. In the worst case, a healthy looking tree collapses without much warning. More often, though, the signs of stress are much less dramatic.

Radial growth slows thus eaves are undersized and may wilt, yellow, curl, or crinkle, become marginally scorched, or even turn brown and fall. Emergent shoots are short. In an effort to right the imbalance caused by root-loss, crown dieback or a general thinning of the canopy occurs.

Opportunistic pests and diseases then make their move. Boring insects are thought to be drawn by the odors and acoustic signals of stressed trees. The sound of water columns breaking cues the borer to invade the tree and lay eggs. We recommend taking preventative action applying treatment by spray or injection to protect prized or important trees from borers because, by the time the owner realize the tree is stressed, it’s been heavily riddled and girdled.

Another danger to stressed trees in fungus, which makes initial contact with surface roots. Please note that when a chemical change in a tree signals a weakened state, the fungus penetrates the bark, wood and cambial zone with fan-like, leathery clumps, cutting off the water supply to the tree.

While all trees are at risk during shortages of water, some are more prone to its effects. New transplants are highly vulnerable to drought stress, and supplemental watering for the first few years of established is necessary, to extent that it’s allowed. But even mature trees suffer.

Chandler Tree Removal Services
The most common misconception is that trees take care of themselves.

The truth is that most trees in Arizona yards are growing in somewhat unnatural environments. They need our expertise to flourish.

Proper Trimming

Proper pruning is necessary for a healthy tree. Removing dead or dying branches discourages the spread of decay or insect infestations. It also removes safety hazards while improving the tree’s appearance.

Proper pruning can also help prevent storm damage. By contrast, topping and lion’s tailing, while sometimes touted as ways to “make trees safe”, causes severe and permanent damage to trees.

Branch Management Tree Services performs proper trimming and pruning in accordance with the ANSI A300 guidelines and standards set forth by the International Society of Arboriculture.

Tree Removals

Although tree removal is a last resort, there are circumstances that warrant it necessary. An arborist can help decide whether or not a tree should be removed. Arborists have the skills and equipment to safely and efficiently remove trees.

In all cases, tree removal is best handled by the reputable professionals of Branch Management Tree Services. We have the equipment, experience and expertise to remove any tree safely in any situation. We are fully insured for your protection.

Stump Grinding

After the safe removal of your tree(s), we can provide you with our stump grinding service. Our machines reduce stumps to a maximum depth of 12″ (30 cm) below grade. Large, surrounding roots close to the surface can also be ground down. We clean and haul away debris to your satisfaction.

Staking and Cabling

Tree CareCables are installed in trees to limit movement of limbs judged to have a weak connection or to support heavy limbs. Additional support may be needed due to splits, decay or a weak root system.

Staking is done to maintain the erection and support of the tree. It is done only after corrective pruning to reduce weight on weak systems in the tree. As an adjunct, it can help to reduce the risk of tree or branch failure. Correct installation is crucial in order to have the least possible damage to the tree.

One needs to realize that any kind of cutting or drilling on a tree creates a wound inducing a protective reaction. The fewer and smaller the wounds, the less damage to the tree.

Storm Damage

Many shade and ornamental trees are damaged throughout the year by windstorms, ice and snow accumulations, lightning or other mechanical sources (automobiles, vandalism, etc.). Damage usually consists of a few broken branches.

However, more severe damage such as splitting or pulling apart of branch forks, removal of large areas of bark, twisting and splitting of the trunk, or even uprooting may occur.

These injuries usually result in a change in appearance of the tree and increase its susceptibility to a subsequent insect or disease attack, or can cause damage to surrounding buildings and vehicles. Thus, it is important that the damage be properly treated and repairs made to maintain the health of the tree and safety to the surrounds.

Occasionally, trees may be uprooted as a result of severe storms. If the tree is large, it cannot be saved and therefore must be removed.

For some smaller trees (25 feet or less in height), it may be possible to straighten the tree and brace it using guy wires or cables. Some type of power lift or equipment is usually necessary to pull the tree upright.

Our Consulting Arborists will recommend the type of action that should take place in this situation.

Treatment of Sick Trees

Our staff of Certified Arborists will diagnose and recommend the most up-to-date and environmentally conscious method of treatment that is best for your landscape.

Deep Root Fertilization

Just because you fertilize your yard does not mean that you fertilized your trees. When trees require extra nutrition, they should be fertilized in specific ways to assure they receive the maximum benefit from the treatment. We provide a system to feed your tree using a liquid blend of nutrients forced into the soil at the root zone. This process also provides oxygen to the soil resulting in optimum plant growth.

Palm Services

Palm trees require a unique approach. They have a different anatomy from other trees. Based on this knowledge, the approach to pruning is not the same. Climbing techniques and equipment used also differ from other trees.

Palm trees require a large variety of nutrients to survive and because they thrive in sandy, well-drained soils, these nutrients tend to leach away quickly. As a result, most common problems with palms are caused by a lack of nutrients or improper fertilization. There are palm-specific fertilizers available that release their nutrients very slowly to provide consistent, targeted feeding.

Preventative Maintenance

Preventive maintenance keeps trees in good health, which will help the tree better defend itself against insects, disease and site problems. Our staff of Certified Arborists can properly evaluate your trees and make recommendations on how to preserve the investment your have made and keep your landscape beautiful.

This is a program specifically designed to maintain your trees and shrubs in the best possible health. Healthy plants are better able to withstand and survive serious attacks of insects and disease. Healthy trees and shrubs adjust better to changes in climate and are less likely to be damaged by windstorms.

Tree Values

Trees help beautify our surroundings, purify our air, act as sound barriers, manufacture precious oxygen help us save energy through their cooling shade in summer and their wind reduction in winter.

However, many people do not realize that plants have a dollar value of their own that can be measured by competent appraisal such as Branch Management Tree Service can offer. We recommend the following:

  • SEEK ADVISE OF PROFESSIONALS
  • REDUCE CASUALTY LOSS
  • 1. Plan your landscaping for both beauty and functional value.
  • 2. Protect and preserve to maintain value.
  • 3. Take pictures of trees and other landscape plants when they are healthy and vigorous. This allow ‘before’ and ‘after’ comparison easier and will expedite processing of insurance and/or IRS claims.
  • 4. Check your insurance. In most cases the amount of an allowable claim for any one tree or shrub is a maximum of $500, far less than most value.
  • 5. Keep accurate records of your landscape appraisals and real estate appraisals for any losses – for insurance, legal and income tax purposes.
  • 6. Consult Branch Management Tree Service at each stage in the life of your landscape – planning, planting, care and (to make sure you do not suffer needless financial losss) when a casualty strikes.

Golf Course Specialist Services

Proper pruning is necessary for a healthy tree. Removing dead or dying branches discourages the spread of decay or insect infestations. It also removes safety hazards while improving the tree’s appearance.

Proper pruning can also help prevent storm damage. By contrast, topping and lion’s tailing, while sometimes touted as ways to “make trees safe”, causes severe and permanent damage to trees.

Branch Management Tree Services performs proper trimming and pruning in accordance with the ANSI A300 guidelines and standards set forth by the International Society of Arboriculture.

Fertilization Program

Just because you fertilize your yard does not mean that you fertilized your trees. When trees require extra nutrition, they should be fertilized in specific ways to assure they receive the maximum benefit from the treatment. We provide a system to feed your tree using a liquid blend of nutrients forced into the soil at the root zone. This process also provides oxygen to the soil resulting in optimum plant growth.
